Consider that the most recent FIFA World Cup Finals in Qatar was watched by 1.42 Billion viewers from across the globe, Nike’s annual sales are over $51 Billion with its products available in over 200 countries and close to 27 million children, 54% of youths between the ages 6 to 17, participated in sports in the U.S. alone.
The class will bridge theory with practice. Each day of the boot camp will have a mix of formal lectures, real-world case studies, group projects and outside guest speakers from various parts of the sports industry. Below is a sample day from the Sports Biz Boot Camp which aligns closely with the NYU Stern Sports Marketing & Media class syllabus-
Our Boot Camps are designed specifically for ambitious high school students in Grades 10 – 12 preparing for a college major in business, communications & marketing or sports management. If you are student that is passionate about the business and dream of working in sports — not just on the field, but behind the scenes in management, marketing, media and strategy the boot camp will provide you with a comprehensive introduction to the industry and allow you to begin building a network.
The camp is designed to be 100% attended IN-PERSON to maximize the learning and overall experience of each participant. The Sports Biz Boot Camps has created an exclusive relationship with Christian Ponder, former NFL player and found of The Post (https://www.thepost.co/) his exclusive private membership network for athletes turned business leaders. All classroom sessions will be held at The Post NYC Clubhouse which is centrally located in Manhattan @ 61 W. 23rd St 7th floor and easily accessible to subways as well as Grand Central and Penn Station for those commuting to the boot camp from outside of New York City. We will also organize “field trips” for those enrolled in a 5-day bootcamp to sports related venues or offices. The group will typically travel together via subway or walk to the offsite visits from the Post NYC Clubhouse.
We offer both 3-day and 5-day boot camp programs. The 3-day option will be held on holiday weekends (Sat, Sun, Mon) from 10 am – 3 pm. The 5-day option takes place during Spring and Summer Break and run Monday – Friday from 10 am – 3 pm. The 5-day option allows the students to explore additional topics and dive into two extra case studies. The 5-day option also includes two “field trip” visits during the week to sports related offices or venues (i.e. Barclays Center, Citi Field, CAA Offices) to get a tour and hear firsthand from executives about the experience of working there. Below are the dates of the boot camps scheduled in 2025-26 and at registration you will be asked to sign-up for a specific program date.
Registration is done directly on our website. Each student should sign-up for a specific 3 or 5 day boot camp session and will be asked to fill out a brief application for admission to the program. Your application will give us a sense of your background and although no prior experience is expected – we maintain high standards to ensure each cohort includes motivated and capable learners.
Tuition is $1,850 for the 3-day bootcamp and $3,250 for the 5-day bootcamp. Tuition is all inclusive and covers instruction, materials, guest speakers, access to course resources as well as snacks and lunch every day. We offer a limited number of need-based scholarships for each bootcamp and applicants could reach out directly to the Executive Director to discuss scholarship options.
